The toughest question to be answered when a relationship does not work is how to cope with a break up. The answers are many and it goes without saying that the whole process is not as easy as it sounds. Nevertheless, here are some tips that will guide you in the right direction while dealing with a break up:

    1. Once you have broken up, it is a natural tendency to go over the reasons why it didnt work out. While in some cases, relationships cant work because the two people are simply too different, others are more complex. Especially when there are things like cheating involved, it is a common tendency to go over the question why do men cheat ? However, though thinking is necessary, you must avoid turning it into an obsession.

    2. Do not isolate yourself from the world. Go out, meet up old friends and keep yourselves busy. Even though having fun seems to be an alien idea at this juncture, you will see how much better you feel when you are with loved ones.

    3. Talk about the break up and your feelings. Write a diary or journal if you need to. Just make sure that you are not forcefully suppressing your emotions as that can be harmful.

    4. Move on, and I mean truly move on. Stop pondering over questions like does he like me, will we get back together, will he call, was I responsible, etc. Accept that you have parted ways and find yourself something else to put your concentration in.
Dealing with a break up in the correct fashion is very important as it can decide your future. If you take the wrong steps you might end up regretting it for a lifetime. However, if you feel it is too much for you to deal with get yourself some professional help. Visiting a psychiatrist can do wonders in itself. If you are unable to get over the breakup yourself, do not hesitate go visit a professional today.
